Experience

I have 9 years of tutoring experience, including the past 3 years as a full time tutor. I also teach a weekly SAT Prep course at West Windsor - Plainsboro High School North and have taught math classes at the Kumon Learning Center in East Windsor. Math is my specialty. In middle and high school, I earned numerous awards in statewide and national math competitions including MathCounts, the NJ Mathematics League, and Math Olympiad. After achieving a perfect 800 score on both the SAT I Math section and the SAT II Math Subject Test, I graduated as valedictorian at Princeton High School, one of the nation's most competitive high schools. At Princeton University, I graduated with a 4.0 GPA, and then earned a 780 score on my GMAT. In 2005, I received my MBA in finance from Columbia University. Between 2000 and 2012, I worked on Wall Street both as a trader and as a research strategist. As a fixed-income strategist at UBS Investment Bank, I authored hundreds of financial market publications that were read by institutional clients from all around the globe, and I was quoted frequently in various news outlets including the Wall Street Journal (twice on its front page), Bloomberg News, and the Financial Times. After leaving Wall Street in 2012, I started tutoring full time. I now teach every math subject up through pre-calculus, and also spend a good portion of my time preparing students for the math section of the SAT I and the SAT II Math Subject Test. Besides teaching math, I also do college counseling, including helping with applications, college essays, and interview preparation. As a former admissions interviewer for Princeton University and Columbia University, I believe I can offer my students a valuable perspective on the college admissions process.
