Education
I graduated from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia with a bachelor's degree in English and creative writing, earning a GPA of 3.0. In addition to my English major, I double majored in psychology and theatre, and was inducted into Alpha Psi Omega, the national theatre honor society. In addition, I plan on pursuing a master's degree in either English or education so that I can realize my dream of having a career in the field of education.
Experience
During my last year of college, I had a work study position at Community School Roanoke. My responsibilities included assisting teachers with lesson planning, and aiding students between the ages of 3 and 14 with math, reading, writing, and science skills. The job made me even more excited to pursue a career in the field of education. I want to be a tutor because I love working with students and helping them achieve their highest potential. In high school, I took an AP English literature course, and scored a 1960 on my SAT. I took SAT classes at C2 education, where I worked with instructors who had brilliant strategies to help me score better on the SAT. With this experience under my belt, I was able to understand what strategies work best to help students understand the skills they need to succeed.

Hobbies
In my free time, I enjoy writing. In between works of writing, I can usually be found baking, my second passion in my life. I work well with children, as I have volunteered at my local town library as a tutor in reading and writing skills for elementary and middle school students. Because of this volunteer experience, I have learned to build a good friendly relationship with both parents and students, and continue to use those social skills daily as I encounter new people.
